    • Complete vertebroplasty set for application of 2 cement deposits in the vertebra by transpedicular access

Dual Standard complete set consisting of:

    • 2 Vertebroplasty cannulas
    • 2 SIS – Small Injection Systems
    • 1 plastic bowl and spatula for mixing bone cement
    • 1 needle holder

    Vertebroplasty cannula:

    • Special needle for safe puncture of vertebral bodies
    • Maximum stability
    • Excellent guiding properties
    • Low artefact behaviour
    • Wall thickness 0.375 mm
    • Particularly atraumatic bevelled-ground point at the rear edge for easy penetration
    • Notch on mandrin allows for determination of the position of the bevelled-ground point of the cannula
    • Particularly accurate cannula guidance due to electro-polished surface
    • Centimetre markings on the cannula shaft (markings 5 and 10) for depth orientation
    • Smooth inner walls of cannula for the lowest possible resistance during cement application
    • Solid metal attachment of cannula and mandrin
    • Luer-Lock connector for attachment of conventional syringes

    SIS – Small Injection System:

    • One-handed system for cement application
    • Small, handy and ergonomic
    • Distinctly longer application times compared to conventional polycarbonate syringes
    • Reduced risk of leakage due to the direct and tactile transfer of force
    • Rotatable standard Luer-Lock coupling for conventional vertebroplasty cannulas

    Needle holder:

    • Reduced radiation exposure through safer removal
    • An anaesthesia cannula can be locked on with or without a syringe
    • No interfering x-ray shadows
    • Special design allows for easy removal of the mandrin after correct positioning
    • Useful for easy removal of the cannula after application of cement

    • Packaging unit: 2 piece

The Dual Standard Complete Set contains all necessary components for application of 2 cement deposits in the vertebra by transpedicular access.

The total set is made up of the following components:

    • 2 Vertebroplasty cannulas
    • 2 SIS – Small Injection System
    • 1 plastic bowl and spatula for mixing bone cement
    • 1 needle holder

    Vertebroplasty cannula:
The vertebroplasty cannula for vertebral puncture is distinguished by its maximum stability, its excellent guiding properties and low artefact behaviour during fluoroscopy. The puncture cannula has a wall thickness of 0.375 mm. The cannula tip was equipped with a particularly atraumatic bevelled-ground point at the rear edge to guarantee particularly easy penetration in the patient. The mandrin within the cannula has a notch at the head to allow for continuous recognition of the direction of the ground point of the cannula. The electro-polished cannula surface makes it possible to guide the vertebroplasty cannula with great accuracy during the procedure. Centimetre markings on the cannula shaft (markings 5 and 10) allow for additional orientation with regard to depth of penetration. The inner walls of the cannula are smooth, making resistance during cement application particularly low.

The cannula head and mandrin consist of a massive metal attachment to withstand the blows of a surgical hammer without difficulty. A Luer-Lock connector allows for easy connection of conventional syringes.

    SIS – Small Injection System:
The handy alternative for cement application in vertebroplasty: The SOMATEX® Small Injection System - SIS can be operated one-handedly and because of the resistance of its material to cement, it allows for significantly longer application times. SIS is equipped with a Luer-Lock adapter, which allows the cement to be cleanly aspirated from the mixing cup.

    Needle holder:
Radiation exposure during vertebroplasty is enormously high, specifically for the operating physician. The SOMATEX® needle holder makes it possible to perform punctures safely and without radiation exposure. The position and insertion angle can be conveniently selected. Under visual control, the cannula can be guided safely and continuously to the spinal column without exposing the hands to radiation.
