German Roentgen Congress in Berlin a new product range of instruments for
minimally invasive surgical procedures using a magnetic resonance image scanner.
Through the use of a new alloy, these instruments can achieve excellent visibility with
minimal artefact formation and high levels of material strength. |

Teltow, 12th November, 2007. At the Medica trade fair in Düsseldorf from 14th to 17th November,
SOMATEX Medical Technologies will present, amongst other innovations, its newly developed radiation protector, designed for use during CT scans of the head. The new protector represents an important contribution to a more active patient protection, as it greatly reduces the exposure of radiation to sensitive eyes, thus significantly lessening the risk of eye cataracts developing as a result of repeated CT scans. |

In the past year, the medical technology manufacturer SOMATEX Medical Technologies was able to increase its net income before taxes by 66.99%. In particular, the minimum invasive instruments used for tumor marking and diagnosis in magnet resonance imaging (MRI) much contributed to the good results: turnover in this area has increased by 60%. The sale of instruments used in mammography and oncology also increased by 20% each. |

Teltow March 06, 2006. As in the past, there is strong demand for quality products made in Germany, in particular in sensitive areas such as health and healthcare. This is why the medical supplier Somatex Medical Technologies was able to increase its profit by 17% and its turnover by a total of 11% last year by selling minimum invasive single-use instruments. Especially the sale of mammography instruments and products for vertebroplasty - i.e. the treatment of injured vertebral bodies - accounted for a plus of 34% resp. 37% and thus contributed considerably to this growth.

Teltow, December 12, 2005. The products of Somatex Medical Technologies have received final approval and are now available on the Russian market. The minimum invasive single-use instruments were certified according to the Russian GOST standard and can from now on be sold to Russian customers. Somatex offers systems for tumor marking, systems for tumor treatment by laser-induced interstitial thermotherapy (LITT), biopsy systems, drainage catheters to drain intra-abdominal liquid collections and the complete range of vertebroplasty products.

Teltow August 31, 2005. As a development-orientated medical technology company, SOMATEX® Medical Technologies has now been certified according to EN ISO 13485:2003. For this process of certification, the entire company was assessed. Certification was completed one year before it becomes mandatory on July 31, 2006. The following processes were examined: strategic processes (e.g. business targets), core processes (e.g. development and manufacturing), supporting processes (e.g. corporate communication) and quality management/documentation.
