| Medical Technology: Strong Demand for Quality made in Germany |
Somatex Medical Technologies was able to strongly increase its annual turnover by selling minimum invasive single-use instruments |
Teltow March 06, 2006. As in the past, there is strong demand for quality products made in Germany, in particular in sensitive areas such as health and healthcare. This is why the medical supplier Somatex Medical Technologies was able to increase its profit by 17% and its turnover by a total of 11% last year by selling minimum invasive single-use instruments. Especially the sale of mammography instruments and products for vertebroplasty - i.e. the treatment of injured vertebral bodies - accounted for a plus of 34% resp. 37% and thus contributed considerably to this growth.
"Technology made in Germany is appreciated due to its good quality," said Frank Kniep, General Manager of Somatex. And he added: "Our export results show this clearly. The export of Somatex products has grown by 14% and this percentage is much higher than the one for the German market."
When manufacturing its minimum invasive instruments, Somatex primarily uses high-quality material. The design is well thought-out so that the treating physicians can easily handle the instruments. The strain on the patient is therefore reduced to an absolute minimum. "Despite increasing cost pressure in the healthcare sector: In regard to its products and innovations, Somatex exclusively focusses on quality," declared Frank Kniep.
