Somatex Minimum Invasive Medical Devices Now Available in Russia As Well

Somatex products successful at medical fair "Zdravookhranenie" in Moscow

Teltow, December 12, 2005. The products of Somatex Medical Technologies have received final approval and are now available on the Russian market. The minimum invasive single-use instruments were certified according to the Russian GOST standard and can from now on be sold to Russian customers. Somatex offers systems for tumor marking, systems for tumor treatment by laser-induced interstitial thermotherapy (LITT), biopsy systems, drainage catheters to drain intra-abdominal liquid collections and the complete range of vertebroplasty products.

”For quite some time now, we have seen that Russian customers are strongly interested in new procedures and devices. Especially physicians show great interest,” Markéta Kniep, International Operations Manager at Somatex, points out. This trend continued during Russia’s medical fair, the "International Exhibition of Health Care Medical Engineering and Pharmaceuticals Zdravookhranenie", that took place from November 28 to December 2 in Moscow.

For Somatex, the fair in Moscow has been a successful start on the Russian market. First agreements were concluded and numerous contacts were established with regional distributors. In particular, the instruments for vertebroplasty, LITT and mammography were in the focus of attention of the specialist visitors. The visitors especially appreciated the top quality and excellent handling of Somatex’ medical devices. "In addition to that, devices exclusively manufactured in Germany also benefit from the good reputation that German manufacturers generally enjoy in Russia," Markéta Kniep comments.
