Teltow July 04, 2005. In diagnosing suspected lesions of the bronchial tract the bronchoscopically guided fine needle puncture has proven to be a particularly gentle method for patients. With the new improved BRONCHO-CUT ® 1.0 system, SOMATEX® now meets the requirements and requests of treating physicians who wish to have a considerably increased quantity of biopsy material for aspiration cytology purposes.

”The physician using BRONCHO-CUT ® 1.0 can remove three times as much cytologically useful material compared to conventional systems”, explains Frank Kniep, General Manager of SOMATEX® Medical Technologies. This is feasible because SOMATEX® offers the largest possible cannula diameter of 1.0 mm and a cannula length of 20 mm. In addition to that, BRONCHO-CUT® 1.0 can be handled very easily and safely thanks to the excellent guiding characteristics of the lock, a needle that can be fixed in two positions and to a precise positioning due to distal markings on the cannula. Thanks to this method surgical therapy procedures can be avoided. BRONCHO-CUT® 1.0 allows an improved stage division in bronchial carcinomas and simplifies planning of operations in case of malignant lymphomas.
