designed to enhance treatment
To efficiently treat tumours using chemo or radiation therapy, it is useful to be able to precisely mark the affected tissue. The Tumark marker system provides a minimally invasive solution for marking soft tissue, particularly breast tissue. The 6-mm nickel-tianium marker is inserted percutaneously into the target area using a special aspirating set. The unique design of the marker allows it to anchor firmly to the tissue and ensures that the marker is clearly visible from all directions. This marker is primarily used to mark lesions prior to and during chemotherapy and to improve therapy planning prior to radiotherapy. During follow-up examinations, the tumour´s initial position can still be found. In addition, this system can be used to mark optimal biopsy locations, especially for small, non-palpable focuses.
This system can be used in connection with ultrasound, X-ray and MRI. It is MRI-compatible up to 3T. A special aspirating set is available for use with MRI examinations.
